Sevastopol Aircraft Plant is a specialized aircraft repair enterprise, which carries out major overhaul, reequipment and modernization of different types of helicopters, ground flight-operation support aids, communication and navigation facilities. The plant was founded on October 7, 1929, and for 77 years is developed from an aviation shop to modern plant with the necessary technical equipment.

The main trend of the Plant activity is the overhaul of Mi-2, Mi-8, Mi-14, Mi-17, Ka-25, Ka-27, Ka-28, Ka-32 helicopters of all versions, its units and equipment.

Beginning from 1992, the enterprise has been actively implementing a conversion and modernization program which includes repair and re-configuration of Mi-8TV, Mi-8MT (Mi-17), Mi-8MTV-1 (Mi-17-1V), Mi-14 military helicopters of all modification to the following variants:

• VIP cabin;
• passenger;
• cargo and passenger;
• transport passenger;
• fire-fighting;
• ambulance.

In cooperation Sevastopol Aircraft Plant carries out the overhaul of TV2-177 and TV3-117 turbo-shaft aircraft engines of all versions, Ai-9, Ai-9V gas turbine engines, VR-8, VR-14, VR-252 main reducers.

Also the installation of equipment for international flights is made:

• GNS 430(530) GPS/NAV COM system, running at GPS mode, navigation mode and landing from VOR/ILS beacon mode, VHF communication in 137,000 MHg range with the grid of 8,33 KHg;

• GI-106 - external indicator;
• CI-109 - VHF antenna;
• CI-205-3 - glide slope antenna;
• CI-507 - antenna splitter;
• KN-62A - range finder;
• GTX-327 - responder;
• AK 350 - foot-graduated translator;
• GPSMAP 196 - navigation instrument;
• KEA-130- altimeter;
• ARTEX C-406-1HM - tri-frequency helicopter emergency transmitter;
• BUR-4-1 - airborne information recorder.

Also SAP is able to carry out the followings varieties of modifications:

• Modification of Mi-8MT (Mi-17) helicopters in to the type of Mi-8MTV-1
  (Mi-17-1V, Mi-171, Mi-172) with TV3-117VM engines.
• Modification of Mi-17-1V (Mi-171, Mi-172) helicopters by the extra fuel tanks a capacity 915 l. each, fuel equipment, control and monitoring equipment, that range ability up to 1250 km.

The enterprise is certified and has the following certificates:

• Certificate issued by International Aviation Committee ¹ CÏÐ-56;
• Certificate issued by State Administration of Ukraine for Aviation Safety Oversight ¹ BP 0047;
• Certificate of Ministry of Defence of Ukraine of military accreditation ¹ 010 Ð;
• International certificate ISO 9001:2000.
